In the writing this post I am begrudgingly admitting that Scotland is in fact capable of producing things of value other than oil. This saddens me tremendously but I suppose it is give-and-take: you get the CEO of Brewdog and Brodin on one hand, and must get Cocteau Twins on the other or it just wouldn't be fair.
This is less of a song recommendation and more of an artist recommendation - I happen to quite like this track in particular but I also have yet to dislike any of their other tracks. Elizabeth Fraser's multifaceted voice of God backed up by the ethereal instrumental never fails to whisk me away. The lyrics are complete jibberish on basically all of their songs but does it really matter when it sounds like this? I can recommend "Heaven or Las Vegas", "Four-Calendar Café" and "Treasure" without a second thought.
